London Fashion Week is officially starting its new chapter this February. Instead of forecasting what we will be wearing in fall and winter 2021, the British Fashion Council will use LFW February to give us some style inspiration for the spring and summer months that we’re all chuffed about.

Taking place from Friday, Feb. 19 to Tuesday, Feb. 23, London Fashion Week February 2021 will feature both womenswear and menswear collections for a genderless (and soon to be season-less) appreciation of innovative clothing design. Fashion shows, short films, and some exclusive chats with industry leaders will be accessible to everyone with an internet connection through the London Fashion Week digital platform – with a few physical activations being hosted in and around London.

See the full lineup for LFW Feb 2021 ahead before the official schedule is released, and keep reading for a closer look at the nine standout designers … Read the rest

During the freezing temperatures of winter, there are few things that matter more than comfort. Staying warm and cozy is priority number one, so footwear is typically just a means to an end of this quest. Sneakers and thick boots are on heavy rotation (and for good reason!), but there are those rare occasions when you feel like your outfit needs a bit more polish, and suddenly, heels are back in the mix.

Whether in pump or boot form, a heel elevates your look while also subtly changing the overall vibe. I always walk a bit taller and notice my posture improve after slipping on a pair of heels. They make me feel confident and ready to take on whatever I have on my agenda. Wearing heels in the winter can be a bit trickier given the weather conditions, so pairing them with the right outfit is key. I usually … Read the rest

As an image chameleon and culture connoisseur, David Bowie took inspiration from the musical stars of his adolescence – like Little Richard – as well as the art world, literature, drag, mime and theatre, and his sartorial collaborators from around the world; and he mixed all these influences into one inimitable sartorial catalogue. On what would’ve been the late idol’s 74th birthday, we’re looking back at the indelible mark these David Bowie looks left on the world of fashion and beauty.

1. Wham, bam, thank you glam

Working with the Japanese designer Kansai Yamamoto, Bowie defined what became known as “glam”, a style movement characterized by decadent textures, exaggerated silhouettes, sparkle, colour and traditionally “feminine” details like ruffles and body-con knitwear. Bowie’s wife, the supermodel Iman, memorialized the ground-breaking partnership between her husband and Yamamoto when the … Read the rest

These days, skin care experts and dermatologists alike promote the benefits of natural skin care. 1899 The team is called the ‘Kaffir Football Team’. We know you’re searching for sunglasses shapes to add to your rotation year-round, so we won’t skimp on the trends you’ll want to get to know. We scoured the runways and checked the new arrivals from our favorite eyewear brands – Oliver Peoples, Linda Farrow, Le Specs, and Quay Australia, just to name a few – and uncovered the biggest looks of 2021. These styles may be even more important than your blue light reading glasses because you can wear them outside and inside – inside, like, when you’re posing for an outfit selfie, of course.

This year, we’re not only seeing a repetition of certain shapes, but a recreation of them. Futuristic designs come in all forms – some have frames that swerve or make waves at the sides, while others feature incredibly cool cutouts in the actual lens itself. Meanwhile, heavy metal is a trend, and we’re … Read the rest

I’m really sorry to say it, but when it comes to our body, time takes its toll on just about all of it. And although we know all too well what aging does to our skin, when it comes to other areas of our beauty regimens, age is rarely factored in. From swapping in serums that tackle fine lines and wrinkles to acid treatments that work against age spots and pigmentation, products that cater to aging skin seem to be everywhere.

But what about our hair? It turns out that besides going gray, aging can affect our hair in a number of ways. From thinning to dryness, the ways in which our hair deals with getting older means that as time goes by, we may need to change up our routines. And one of the most effective ways we can do that is by trying out a new … Read the rest

Happy new year! While we can’t promise 2021 will be any better on a societal level, we can help improve the year from a beauty perspective (huge, I know), starting with a selection of the best new products out this month. From a dark-spot erasing serum to a slew of lipsticks at all price points, here are the best new skincare, hair care and makeup products launching in January.

Biossance Squalane and Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum

Biossance Squalane and Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum ($82), at biossance.com.

As global self care ambassador for Biossance, Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness got early access to this dark spot correcting serum, featuring 10 percent vitamin C and white shiitake mushroom extract. (The brand says this formulation is both stable and non-irritating.) After using it for a month, here’s what he had to say: “I’ve always had freckles .. [and I do … Read the rest

A male friend once asked me why women prefer wearing leggings to the gym instead of shorts. The answer is simple: Leggings are super flattering, comfortable enough to wear for hours on end, and they offer the perfect amount of stretch for exercising. Try as they might, there are no other viable options on the market that multitask quite like a good pair of leggings. So when I heard that Madewell, arbiter of everyday basics, is launching its first-ever style, I jumped at the chance to try them out.

The High-Rise 7/8 Legging is part of the brand’s athleisure collection, appropriately dubbed MWL (“Make Weekends Longer,” because who would disagree?), and let me tell you, every day feels like a Saturday in these bad boys. Designed using a blend of recycled nylon and spandex, the legging has a tight but not-too-restrictive compression fit, flatlock seams to prevent chafing, and a … Read the rest
