On the eve of Joe Biden’s inauguration, Biden and incoming vice president Kamala Harris attended a ceremony to honor COVID-19 victims. They were joined by their spouses at the Lincoln Memorial, where 400 lights illuminated around the reflecting pool to represent the 400,000 Americans who have died from the virus. As Kamala delivered a speech paying tribute to the lives lost and calling for the nation to begin healing together, she wore a Pyer Moss coat that also held significance.

When hospitals were experiencing a dire shortage of PPE at the beginning of the pandemic, Kerby Jean-Raymond, the Haitian-American designer and founder behind fashion label Pyer Moss, quickly converted his New York office into a donation center and donated $5,000 to purchase masks and gloves. The designer also set aside $50,000 for minority and women-owned small creative businesses that were distressed by COVID-19. The vice president-elect’s purposeful decision to … Read the rest

“Do you know Raf Simons? He’s a fucking genius!” This is what the teenage protagonist Fraser Wilson exclaims to a Venetian seamstress who doesn’t understand a word of English, and has no idea who Raf Simons is, in the first episode of Luca Guadagnino’s TV series We Are Who We Are (on Now TV). “I didn’t know about Guadagnino’s series until last night when the artist Brian Calvin texted me,” Raf Simons tells me from his home in Milan. “The main character is obsessed with my brand and wears this collaboration vintage T-shirt I did with Brian. It’s very much the topic of the first episode, to the point that the other teenagers don’t even call him by his name. They just call him Maglietta, or ‘T-shirt’.”

That’s basically what we’re going to talk about, right?
Yes, but before we start I need to add that looking at Guadagnino’s series

Since March 2020, many celebrities have been doing their part to thank front-line workers for all the hard work they’ve accomplished throughout the COVID-19 surges. To thank these workers for their ongoing dedication, Post Malone is spreading the love ahead of Valentine’s Day by donating 10,000 pairs of his sold-out Duet Max Clog II Crocs to front-line caregivers nationwide.

“As a special early #FrontlineValentines gift, we teamed up with @postmalone and @crocs, to offer our hospital partners nationwide a gesture of gratitude with extra comfort!” said Musicians on Call in an Instagram post on Jan. 13. “Caregivers and staff are receiving their very own pair of Post Malone’s fifth #pmxcrocs collaboration as a thank you for their brave work on the frontlines to keep our communities safe!” The organization, which seeks to bring music to patients … Read the rest

Colin Pantall is a photographer, writer, and educator based in England. And as a British citizen, he’s starting to live the consequences of Brexit firsthand. That’s why he recently published Brexit Pictures, a newspaper (already sold-out) whose tagline is “’you won’t like it, it doesn’t make sense, it’s a waste of money” – and that should be enough to convey the feeling of his project.

Inspired by the British countryside, Colin Pantall realized a series of images that encapsulate Brexit both in terms of a romanticized but harassed landscape – a vision of Britain’s past, its sordid present, and its doomed future.

Even though we may not regularly consign our sneakers, investing in a new designer pair certainly feels more justifiable when we know the value. Buying pre-owned shoes, or even unworn styles with the tags still intact, is a smart way to shop – and not only because it’s a sustainable commitment. Usually, the luxury kicks that are being resold have soared in popularity, occasionally selling for even more than the original price.

We talked to Sean Conway, The RealReal‘s sneaker and streetwear expert, who offered some tips for those who collect sneakers as a hobby. “When it comes to buying sneakers, check resale value first to better understand what sneakers, styles, and colorways hold value,” he said. “When you’ve made your sneaker purchase, it’s always smart to keep the collateral, as original boxes and tags can increase resale value. For example, previously worn pairs sell for 34 percent … Read the rest

Come funziona sui capelli?
