Bikinis hold a special place in my heart. Swimwear was the very first market I was assigned to edit when I became a fashion editor, and now, after years of discovering the latest trends, meeting designers, and working on photo shoots, I’ve become quite the bikini expert. From retro maillots and barely there bikinis to swim skirts and the return of the low rise, I’ve seen and tried them all. Thus, my Instagram has become a true testament to my ongoing love affair with bikinis.

We are inundated with bikini styles, colors, patterns, and fabrics to choose from (not a terrible situation), and it can be challenging to filter through and find the silhouettes that work best for you. Even though I have bins overflowing with every single bikini style you can imagine, I tend to remain loyal to the same six styles that are flattering and, of Read the rest

Kamala Harris continues to break barriers in her career. On April 28, she stood behind Joe Biden as he addressed a joint session of Congress at the United States Capitol in Washington DC. Biden acknowledged the vice president and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi: “Madam Speaker, Madam Vice President. No president has ever said those words from this podium,” he said. “No president has ever said those words and it’s about time.” If that is not enough to make women and young girls all over the world feel confident, Harris’s bold stature and elegance in a cream Prabal Gurung pantsuit should help.

Harris chose to support the Singaporean-born Nepali American designer raised in Nepal and India at the most crucial time – when Gurung himself is using his platform to stand up against anti-Asian hate crimes in America and racism in the fashion industry. By working with Gurung on … Read the rest

It may be entirely un-British to laugh about anyone else’s style choices (we Brits are far too polite for that), but I will say that as a Brit living in Los Angeles for over 12 years, I’ve picked up on certain American sartorial tendencies that I’ve found rather distinct and funny. I recall being taken aback on my first brunch date in Santa Monica where everyone looked like they had just stepped out of the gym (minus the sweat, of course). This is a far cry from the UK, where you’d never meet friends for lunch in yoga pants or sports gear if you aren’t actually planning to do sports. (Full disclosure: 12 years later, I now look likeI go to the gym too.)

While we love expressing our adoration for classic French style here on Who What Wear, it’s the Brits who take more style risks, exude an edgier Read the rest

Surprise! Frankies Bikinis has teamed up with tennis player Naomi Osaka to collaborate on her first-ever swimwear collection. The athlete showcases her sense of style in a range of swimwear designed in collaboration with the brand’s founder and Creative Director Francesca Aiello.

“For this swimwear collection, I really wanted to mix sporty and feminine, just like my own style. Francesca and I designed strong silhouettes in bold colors and also included a lot of playful prints and sparkly fabrics to add some femininity. I think there’s a little something for everyone in this collection, and that makes me really excited,” Naomi exclusively told POPSUGAR.

The collection will be released in two drops. The first drop will release on May 10 and focuses on “fun, girly prints and new silhouettes.” The brand will showcase new prints called “sweet pea” floral, “libra stripe,” and “candyland.” It will also be showcasing Naomi’s signature … Read the rest

Now that almost a full year has passed since we began working from home, I can confidently say I have never ever in my entire life worn sweatpants as frequently as I have this past year. I used to have really high hopes for myself when this all started (that I would wake up and actually get dressed every day), but that rarely happens, and I have come to accept that. Instead, I slip into my favorite pair of sweatpants and call it a day. Am I sick of this sartorial routine? You bet I am, and with summer on the horizon, I am beyond ready to finally start shopping for something that couldn’t be more opposite of sweatsuits: swimsuits!

I honestly can’t remember the last time I did a thorough swimsuit search, so selecting the products for this story made me feel all kinds of things. The 31 swimsuits … Read the rest

Only three months after landing her first modeling contract, Ella Emhoff has launched her first official knitwear collaboration with designer Batsheva Hay, and the collection alone might make grandma chic 2021’s newest trend. After teasing the design process in early March – which involved collaborating via text, email, and Zoom – Ella and Batsheva have channeled 2000s pastel style into three pieces ranging in price from $150 to $280.

“Having the bright colors I love mixed with her traditional silhouettes; it was kind of the perfect melding of styles,” Ella said in a press release. “There’s not a real plan, it’s just intuition. It was really nice to work with someone else who works like that because it can be seen as an unorganized aspect, but it’s not. It just happens so stress-free.” The pair only met up once in person for fittings, making the finished collection a true creative … Read the rest

The popularity and ever-evolving nature of injectables and filler have risen exponentially in recent years, and the “liquid rhinoplasty”—aka the nonsurgical nose job—is one of the most raptly searched procedures on the menu. (Spoiler: It’s also one of the most potentially dangerous and complication-prone procedures.) However, the allure of a procedure with comparatively less downtime, less commitment (results are temporary), and a potentially lower cost is not lost on us, and if you’re someone who has considered surgical rhinoplasty or who is curious about other alternatives, the nonsurgical nose job is a relevant one to consider. (If you’re curious about what the before-and-afters can look like, we’ve included work from Alexander Rivkin, MD, the inventor of nonsurgical nose jobs, below!)

In all honestly, we will be the last source to encourage cosmetic or surgical procedures in the name of beauty. You do you. Choosing to forgo these types of treatments … Read the rest

Most Wanted is a weekly series in which one editor, staffer, or influencer shares their top 30 must-haves or current wish-list items.

There are many great things about my job, one of them being that I get to have about a hundred browser tabs open on the daily for research purposes. One of the not-so-great parts of my job, however, is having my computer crash at least once a day because of said research. At least that’s what happened when I began my search for the best warm-weather finds earlier this month.

Come summer, my poor laptop always has to work overtime because, to me, summer is the shopping season. It’s a fresh start—a time to spruce up your wardrobe and inject some fun into your life via cheerful clothes, accessories, and makeup. Which brings me to today’s important topic: extra-special finds that need your attention. There are bucket hats, … Read the rest

The second you press play on The United States Vs. Billie Holiday, our cover star Andra Day’s acting debut, there’s a feeling so visceral you can almost hear it. You could call it magic, but if you watch the film, you’ll realize “magic” is far too cliché and syrupy of a word to accurately describe Day’s Golden Globe–winning, Oscar-nominated portrayal. Instead, it’s a feeling akin to a sound you might hear at a baseball game, the reverberating crack of wood colliding with cowhide, a grand slam that no one, Day included, really saw coming. Of course, The United States Vs. Billie Holiday is a success in the literal sense. The film has captivated audiences and received nationwide critical acclaim since its February 26 release on Hulu, but there’s another layer to this particular moment. Not only does the film reveal jazz legend Billie Holiday’s true 360 legacy (shedding light Read the rest
