Every year, Hollywood’s A-list shows up in droves for one of the most buzzed-about nights of the year: The Academy Awards. And while the celebration of the year’s best films is the reason for the gathering, it’s the red carpet arrivals, where we get the first glimpses of what everyone is wearing, that really grabs our attention. And, sure, it’s always an evening stacked with the dreamiest couture and more dazzling jewels than we can count, but the beauty moments are also downright iconic.

Over the last several decades, the hype around the Oscars and the enviable beauty looks put on display have only gotten bigger, better, and more glamorous. That’s why we decided to take a look back at the show-stopping hair and makeup moments that defined the 2000s, 2010s, and beyond to bring you a nostalgic edit of the 25 best Oscars beauty looks of the new millennium. … Read the rest

Levi’s has announced its “Buy Better, Wear Longer” campaign, which features two of our favorite activists Jaden Smith and Emma Chamberlain, both of whom are known for teaming up with brands that reflect their core values. This initiative in particular speaks to the denim company’s sustainability efforts and raises awareness about the fashion industry’s overconsumption. Levi’s has committed to sourcing materials such as cottonized hemp and organic cotton and producing clothes through a water-saving manufacturing system. But the label asks us to do our part, too, by passing on our denim to future generations, buying secondhand, and taking advantage of options like Levi’s in-store Tailor Shops to extend the life of our pieces.

The campaign ads aren’t just expertly styled images of celebs in their jeans, if that’s what you’re thinking – they’re a reflection of change-makers who really care about our environment and want to support the Levi’s messaging. … Read the rest

Despite the ubiquity of jean shorts, finding the perfect pair can take a Herculean effort. With so many variables to consider – texture, fit, comfort, length, color, price, potential camel toe – it seems borderline impossible to find a style that checks all the boxes. And when you factor in a sizable butt and small waist (the two-ingredient recipe for the dreaded gape), it veers into hopeless territory. As someone who’s endeavored to go on this uberspecific jorts treasure hunt for years, I’m thrilled beyond belief to report that my search is finally over. Behold: Madewell’s Curvy Perfect Jean Short.

A riff on the brand’s vintage-inspired Perfect Jean Short, this brand-new fit is specifically designed for those with an hourglass silhouette (read: small in the center, big on the bottom). It has a narrow waist with a contoured band, a long rise, and room at the hip and thigh area, … Read the rest

There are probably certain criteria a pair of shoes must meet in order to make it in your shopping cart. Of course, the silhouette must align with your personal style and be trend-forward for the season. But equally important is the level of comfort. After all, a pair of shoes that pinches and gives you blisters may not always be a solid investment. If you’re currently in the market for a fresh pair of spring shoes, I thought I’d provide you an edit of top-notch styles that are not only cute but comfy as well. As in, they’re podiatrist-approved.

That’s right—I turned to Benjamin Tehrani, DPM, of Kings Point Foot & Ankle in Los Angeles, who is the creator of Nerve Assist (vitamins that I actually use to help with nerve pain). He weighed in on the shoe trends that are worth it because they won’t necessarily cause too much … Read the rest

Former magazine editor and Fashion Director at Barneys Marina Larroudé has spent many years immersed in beautiful clothing and accessories. Larroudé decided to launch her namesake collection with her husband because she identified the need in the shoe market for a luxury product at an accessible price point. “I knew I wanted to design shoes using the best materials available and then to figure out the rest in terms of producing at a price I could pass on to the customer,” Larroudé told POPSUGAR. She recognized that when it came to luxury accessories, people were less willing to “take a risk.” Shoppers might have been drawn to a bright color or a fun print, but hesitant to make an investment in something that may not be a safe, classic choice. “My thought with this collection was that you can actually buy the emotional piece, and it’s going to last as … Read the rest

My summer is looking a bit different this year: I don’t have any international getaways planned, all of my group trips are on hiatus, and now my patio has become my source of capturing that vacation feeling. As I sit on my outdoor chairs and sip on a homemade (and poorly mixed) cocktail, in my mind its an Aperol Spritz, and I’m aboard a yacht along the pastel shores of the Amalfi Coast.  It’s a bit of a stretch, and a long way from anywhere in Italy, but what’s been helping me at least transport there mentally, is wearing a chic designer bikini.

As much as I love a good bargain, even I succumb to the beauty of a designer swimsuit. From the luxurious looking fabrics to the one of a kind details, it’s really hard to pass up a fancy bikini when the design is right. Right now I’ve … Read the rest

Short of breaking out a 3D printer, designer and TikTok star Sarah Hambly created her own nearly identical copy of Taylor Swift’s dress at the 2021 Grammy Awards, and the attention to detail is remarkable. The Oscar de la Renta minidress was made with beige organza covered in floral appliqués and featured a high neckline and bell sleeves that gave it a ’70s-inspired vibe. With a lot of thread and one resilient sewing machine, Sarah spent the next three weeks re-creating the dress from scratch, and the finished result is a spring masterpiece.

Using a mesh fabric that she dyed nude and coated with a water-soluble stabilizer – to prevent any tears like the seam Taylor ripped under her right arm on Grammys night – Sarah set to work with her embroidery machine. “I just sat here and counted stitches and changed thread, changed needles, and just worked with that,” … Read the rest
