Ah, Crocs. You know them well and probably made fun of your dad for wearing them at one point in time – that is, until those vented foam-resin clogs became trendy. Just like a TikTok video reposted to Instagram, this is not new information at all. Whispers of Crocs becoming either ironically or unironically cool have been swirling in the fashion community for years – designers like Christopher Kane and Balenciaga’s Demna Gvasalia were in on it as early as 2016 and 2017, respectively, when they each collaborated with the brand to create iterations of their own. But like the person seeing the aforementioned TikTok for the first time on Instagram, I was admittedly late to the game.

Like many of us, I was extremely online throughout the pandemic, and the lack of new Succession episodes had me tapping through Nicholas Braun’s IG Stories almost daily. The missives from Cousin … Read the rest

Did you get the memo that capital-G red carpet Glamour is back? In the case of the 2021 BAFTA Television awards, quite literally, too. Michaela Coel’s exquisite gown by London-based creative Maximilian Davis boasted bright red bell sleeves and eye-catching cut-outs on both sides of its silhouette. Coming or going, it was a breathtaking look, especially since Coel paired the piece with bold gold jewellery by Alighieri — another London label, helmed by Rosh Mahtani, who last year was the first jewellery designer to be given the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design. And to keep the local love going, Coel — whose revolutionary show I May Destroy You won multiple awards including Leading Actress and Writer: Drama for Coel herself — brought along a glossy black version of Simone Rocha’s coveted Egg bag.

But that wasn’t the only glimpse of Rocha’s elegant designs on the recent BAFTA TV … Read the rest

After his farewell from fashion in 2020, Jean Paul Gaultier fans were crushed. But the house of JPG is back with a Spring 2021 ready-to-wear collection. Jean Paul Gaultier returns to ready-to-wear

The house of Jean Paul Gaultier has unveiled a Summer 2021 ready-to-wear drop. This is the label’s first ready-to-wear line in six years and it initiates the start of a new era, without Gaultier’s direction. The collection, titled Les Marins, takes on Gaultier’s signature maritime vibe while continuing to blur the lines of gender — an important keystone that’s been in place since the house’s inception in 1976. Recently, there’s been a lot of talk about dressing joyfully, and I’ve been very much on board with this sentiment. After over a year of pretty much being on lockdown and wearing joggers, it’s only natural that we’re gravitating towards bright pops of colors and fun patterns to remerge as social butterflies for dinners, brunches and the bar. But we shouldn’t overlook those basics that continue to make up the staple of our wardrobes—joy can be found under many guises. We know from our own intel at Who What Wear that the pieces that tend to sell the best are basics such as white tees, black dresses and vest tops, arguably the bread and butter of our summer wardrobes.

I turned to five of my favorite people to follow on IG who are well known for their more pared-back wardrobes. Each one has their own distinct style, but the key … Read the rest

As ephemeral as trends can be, they’re typically easy to trace, especially in an era of excessive documentation. It’s the items that have been around forever that have far less transparent origin stories. Clogs – the practical wooden footwear that’s been in and out of fashion’s collective consciousness for as long as we can remember – are one such item.

No one can pinpoint an exact date of inception, likely because clogs, originally crafted from a single block of wood, have existed in many forms, gone by many names, and been found in many countries: Belgian sabot in Belgium; Traesko in Denmark; Sabot in France; Holzschuh in Germany; Klumpes in Lithuania; Klomp in the Netherlands; Tamancoo in Portugal; Asturian madreñas or Cantabrian albarcas in Spain; Träskor in Sweden; Zoggeli in Switzerland; Paduka in India; Bakiak in Indonesia; Geta or Okobo in Japan; Namakskin in Korea; Terompah in Malaysia; Bakya in … Read the rest

First of all, let me speak to the elephant in the room. At age 41, I am still young with healthy skin (thanks to a stringent routine of cleansing, toning, treating, moisturizing, and sunscreening since age 14), and quite honestly, I feel better in my skin than I ever have. But there’s no denying the collagen depletion and bone loss that comes with age. Yes, that’s right! Apparently, bone mass peaks around ages 25–30 years and declines gradually thereafter in both men and women. Yay!

This is why I started having fillers at around age 37 (you can read my previous articles where I wax lyrical about liquid facials and lip fillers). Now that I’m entering my 40s, I wanted to try something that didn’t just fill the depleted areas but actually helped my own body generate its own collagen over time. Enter: thread lifts. I first heard about Read the rest

All LBGTQ+ couples are different, so when it comes to engagement rings and exchanging vows, there are no set rules about the bling that comes with the declaration of love. Some couples gift each other rings upon proposal, while others hand-pick their stones and bands together, ordering them from the same company or boutique, so there’s less of a surprise but lots of room for personalization. A lot of people have partners that don’t like to wear jewelry at all, and that’s cool, too. Just like with all of the other little bridal details, the options are endless.

I’ll never forget when my sister sent me a text message: “How can I figure out Megan’s ring size?” she asked me, after having already ordered her girlfriend a promise ring that ended up barely even fitting over the knuckle of her pinky. At least it wasn’t a diamond! Luckily, they have … Read the rest
