This week is a huge week in the fashion calendar. Such a design is impossible of realization, even though former colonies continue to honor the tongue of the mother country as the prime foreign language in high school curricula. We are not at all talking of a radical cultural severance. Because of the huge difficulties to be overcome in mastering the African linguistic mosaic, some observers in Europe are convinced that we will not be up to the challenge, that we will be unable to undertake a change requiring so much human energy, so much intellectual lucidity, so much creative thinking. It is worth noting why attention grabbing companies use celebrities to advertise their products. All age groups are attracted to television, films and radio personalities and like to be identified with them. A higher education, as it is the case with most of us in Mzantsi, means that we will just be ‘edumacated’ servants. If you choose to wear a slip under your dress or skirts, make sure you buy something of high quality so you never have to worry about your slip showing at any point during the evening. This way you do not have to worry in terms of breakouts from chemicals or fragrances contained in skin care products. You might want to get moisturizers that are free of excessive chemicals and perfumes as well, to complement your routine for sensitive skin care. Now, it is important that when linguists start giving us their “know-how” of African languages that Africans must read and pay attention to their dicing and dividing the languages, not to inform or show their unity, but to try very hard to show how different they are. Also, these linguists, in their explaining words that are used by the Africans in their various stations in life, work their own confusion to show how different or maybe similar these languages are, because they really do not understand it; not only that, they make mistakes in their using and understanding of the words they are trying to use to show similarities or dissimilarities or comparing and contrasting these words to achieve a certain end concerning these South Africans African languages.

Today, Hip-Hop, a genre created by and performed by predominantly African American musicians is one of the largest genres as a whole, however American fascination with black music goes back to the times of Blackface MinstrelsIt seems that now, as it is financially profitable to do so, it has become more commonplace to see African American music being performed by African American musicians. The individual African American’s perception of their own black identity is shaped in part by both the subjugation and robbery of culture made evident in today’s popular music, but also by the otherization and mere concept of race as a whole, which has disastrous effects on both individual and black identity. The effects of this dichotomy are explored fully in Zora Neale Hurston’s What it means to be colored me.†In this work Hurston expresses and shows the racial constructs that have been forced upon the black identity, through her experiences moving from the all African American town of Eatonville she grew up in, to the large and white city of Jacksonville. Only upon moving to the white city does she then begin to interact with the racial distinctions placed by society, and only then does she begin to recognize herself as different from the rest of the population of the world in some way.
