Celebrity stylist Jill Jacobs has a knack for putting together some of the most captivating outfits, just look at one of her biggest clients, Kylie Jenner. (Have you seen all of the vintage pieces Kylie has been wearing lately?! That’s all thanks to Jill.) Jill started out with Revolve in 2008 and brought her styling, merchandising, branding, and creative direction skills into the celebrity styling and personal shopping world shortly after. Her roster includes heavyweights like Kylie Jenner, Sofia Richie, Jasmine Sanders, and Desi Perkins, to name a few. We chatted with Jill to learn more about her styling process and how she’s been creating look one amazing after another, especially during the pandemic.
“I always tell clients that clothing is based on samples designed on a sample size body. Never be afraid to work with a tailor to tweak clothing so it works best for your body type.”
Jill started off by explaining how the styling process usually works for her clients.”When scheduled, I’m informed what type of looks we are needing. It can be anything from cozy at-home looks to a red carpet look. From there, I plan on where to pull from and call in items I think will be best for the client. Then, we do a fitting where we try multiple options and land on our favorite picks,” she explained. As for how she’s adapted this process during COVID, Jill explained, “For me, timing and shipping is the biggest struggle. My team has never dealt with so many delayed shipments. It’s been a bummer, especially when some of your favorite pieces miss the deadline, but you learn to roll with the punches.”
