Former magazine editor and Fashion Director at Barneys Marina Larroudé has spent many years immersed in beautiful clothing and accessories. Larroudé decided to launch her namesake collection with her husband because she identified the need in the shoe market for a luxury product at an accessible price point. “I knew I wanted to design shoes using the best materials available and then to figure out the rest in terms of producing at a price I could pass on to the customer,” Larroudé told POPSUGAR. She recognized that when it came to luxury accessories, people were less willing to “take a risk.” Shoppers might have been drawn to a bright color or a fun print, but hesitant to make an investment in something that may not be a safe, classic choice. “My thought with this collection was that you can actually buy the emotional piece, and it’s going to last as long as your high-end designer items, but cost a fifth of the price.”

Coming out of a year of quarantine, it seems like we are all searching for things to brighten our mood when it comes to getting dressed. We want things that are playful, special, and spark conversation, and this collection ticks every box. Expect to find everything from bright checks to sweet daisies, and even a limited-edition cannabis print. Not only are the shoes fun to wear, but they are also comfortable, with an expanded top strap that’s five millimeters wider than most high-end brands. One other unique feature is that each shoe comes with a QR code, so when you get the inevitable “Where did you buy those?” you can just have your complimenting friends scan the code with their phones to take them directly to the shoe. If they order them, you get $20 in your Larroudé account toward your next pair. Read through for some of our favorites.
