In conclusion, it seems that, despite societies being so varied, each variation seems to require an understanding of the surrounding society and culture in order to grasp the definitions of persons. It also seems that to be defined a person does not even always require a physical body as spirits of both humans and animals can be categorised as people. Gender also seems to a play an essential role in helping to define people and their worth and position. Although defined in terms of individuality, people tend to rely on society to create their individual personhood so it seems an individual would struggle to stand out on its own. Persons are therefore reliant on the surrounding culture to help create their self. If we are to rid ourselves of the Amnesia that is assailing us, we need to inject and reinvigorate the Nation with those images that are positively themselves and remind them who they are, and also help the Nation see itself as one, and not as disjointed “Tribes” as propagated by the detractors of Africans of Mzantsi. This section of this Hub is to destroy and debunk the imporsed fake Amnesia that is gripping our People. One of the most important thing, if we are to free our African minds, we must delete all the foreign influences. This does not mean we will automatically go back to the Homo-Sapien times and age, but we shall have to add our modern influence in today’s civilization of the techno age, but should not be afraid to say that we are African, and contribute our additions to the advancement of man. 1994 10 May, Hours after his presidential inauguration, Nelson Mandela attends, with 80,000 spectators at Ellis Park, Johannesburg, the South Africa — Zambia soccer match (2-1).Solomon ‘Sticks’ Morewa becomes the second president of SAFA since its formation.1995Orlando Pirates win African Champions’ Cup. Nearly every genre, from Rock and Roll to Electronic music was either created directly by an African American or was in no small part influenced by one. Even the concept of improvisation as a whole was completely invented by black musicians. These genres were stolen and performed by white performers who are famous even to this day, such as Elvis Presley or the Beatles. Today, Hip-Hop, a genre created by and performed by predominantly African American musicians is one of the largest genres as a whole, however American fascination with black music goes back to the times of Blackface MinstrelsIt seems that now, as it is financially profitable to do so, it has become more commonplace to see African American music being performed by African American musicians. The individual African American’s perception of their own black identity is shaped in part by both the subjugation and robbery of culture made evident in today’s popular music, but also by the otherization and mere concept of race as a whole, which has disastrous effects on both individual and black identity. The effects of this dichotomy are explored fully in Zora Neale Hurston’s What it means to be colored me.†In this work Hurston expresses and shows the racial constructs that have been forced upon the black identity, through her experiences moving from the all African American town of Eatonville she grew up in, to the large and white city of Jacksonville. Only upon moving to the white city does she then begin to interact with the racial distinctions placed by society, and only then does she begin to recognize herself as different from the rest of the population of the world in some way.
